BRUMA YCA

The Custom BRUMA YCA sailing yacht, built in 1950 and currently located in the city of Barcelona, province of Barcelona, represents a gem of classic naval architecture. With a length of 19.9 meters, a beam of 5.32 meters, and a draft of 2.84 meters, this pre-owned yacht stands out for its history, character, and extraordinary state of preservation, offering an unparalleled sailing experience for those who appreciate the balance between tradition and functionality.
The Custom brand is synonymous with exclusivity and attention to detail in unique vessels. The BRUMA YCA model, conceived by the prestigious designer Niels Sorensen Viale and built by CORDO Brothers, reflects excellence in craftsmanship with noble woods such as Lapacho, Viraro, Peteribi, iroko, teak, red pine, and okoume. It is surprising that, after more than seven decades, it retains 90% of its original elements, including wooden masts, furniture, and much of the carpentry and functional systems. This authenticity adds immeasurable value and positions it as a benchmark among large classic sailing yachts.
The BRUMA YCA has been, throughout its history, a sailing yacht oriented towards family enjoyment. Its continuous use in calm crossings and the permanent presence of professional crew have ensured meticulous and constant maintenance. Annual refits, along with recent improvements, such as the replacement of the engine with an efficient Volvo Penta D-8-350 in 2022 and the renewal of the batteries, ensure that the boat combines classic charm with updated and reliable technical systems.
One of the main attractions of this yacht is its Bermuda cutter ketch configuration, equipped with two Douglas fir wooden masts, renewed in 2024 following the original tradition. This arrangement, along with the balanced rigging of the foresail, mainsail, staysail, and mizzen (with sails from different years and some never used), allows for versatile and safe sailing, ideal for both experienced sailors and those seeking a genuine maritime experience. The yacht also incorporates Profurl rolling systems and mixed rigging of wire, dyneema, and polyester, adapting to current sailing demands.
In terms of equipment, the Custom BRUMA YCA is prepared for long voyages and life on board, with fuel tanks of 2,800 liters, fresh water of 2,600 liters, and modern black and gray water systems (including two black water tanks, one of which was recently installed, and a gray water tank). The water purification system installed in 2023 guarantees autonomy and comfort, complemented by a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, ice maker, gas stove, and hot water, in addition to a drinking water system. Climate control is ensured with air conditioning and heating, both in optimal condition and renewed according to current needs.
The navigation electronics, updated to 2025 and signed by Raymarine, include GPS, radar, VHF, autopilot, wind and depth instruments, as well as a Starlink satellite antenna. All instruments are duplicated to ensure maximum safety on any voyage. The electrical system, based on 24V and 220V, relies on an ONAN 11.0 MDKAZ generator subjected to annual inspections, providing stable power for all systems on board.
The interior design of the BRUMA YCA, with clear British influence, offers three cabins and six berths, with an interior height of over two meters. The layout favors privacy and comfort, with cabins for crew and owner, spacious bathrooms, a generous kitchen, and a central salon designed as a common space for living together. The details of carpentry, textiles, and furniture have been carefully restored and renewed in recent years, achieving a warm and elegant atmosphere that respects the original spirit of the yacht.
On deck, the robustness of the Custom hardware, hatches, and winches stands out, as well as safety elements: liferaft, EPIRB beacon, fire extinguisher, and valid CE registration. The maneuvering is simple and safe thanks to the chain and gear steering system, along with an electric bow thruster Side Power that facilitates maneuvers in port.
Located in Barcelona, this yacht finds in the Mediterranean an ideal setting for medium and long-distance sailing, day trips, or extended family voyages. Its size and features make it perfect for an owner who values nautical tradition, comfort during long stays, and the ability to sail with autonomy and safety. The BRUMA YCA is undoubtedly a unique opportunity for those seeking a yacht with character, history, and extraordinary versatility, fully adapted to the standards of modern sailing.
